Lily Allen has apologised for her verbal attack on the US during her performance at the V Festival this weekend.

But the singer's Myspace blog defends her comments about George Bush, saying that she has criticised him at nearly every show she has played over the past year and that she stands by her remarks.

Allen said the US is a great place and is upset she is unable to go there.

Allen has apologised for her other comments though. She said the US is a great place and is upset she is unable to go there.

Following an alleged assault on a photographer in the UK, Allen has been banned by immigration officials.

Due to this, the star has had to postpone US tour dates, although she has promised a return to the States later this year.

With regards to Amy Winehouse, Lilly said that raising a drink to her at the V Festival was not meant maliciously and that she is aware that alcohol abuse is not a matter to be taken flippantly.
