Mills says TV outbursts were 'cathartic'
Heather Mills, the estranged wife of Sir Paul McCartney, has described her recent TV outbursts as "unbelievably cathartic".
Mills hit headlines across the world after making a series of angry outbursts on GMTV and on a US network to refute "lies" in media reports about her life.
In her most recent interview, Mills hit back at reports that she had been furious at seeing pictures of ex-Beatle Paul kissing married US millionairess Nancy Shevell.
She said: "In that situation with Paul, there was no phone call, there was no tears and tantrums - there was nothing.
"Basically I just said 'I wish you all the best' and that was it, when we did swap over. It's none of anybody's business what happens in Paul's love life."
The 39-year-old also revealed that Sir Paul had not responded to her recent appearances in the media in which she claimed he had originally agreed to admit he was at fault for the breakdown of their marriage.
But the charity worker says she doesn't regret speaking out: "I was quiet for a year but I had 4,000 articles written about me."
Speaking of her TV interviews Mills said: "It's been unbelievably cathartic. It's the difference between being in prison and being on parole.
"I've had 18 months of the worst press ever and I got the chance to protect myself and my daughter."
The former model also said she has received "so much support" for her campaign to take a petition to the European Parliament to strengthen the law against "a specific portion" of the media after calling for the public to stop buying tabloids during her verbal tirade against the press last week.
