Haut de la Garenne is at the centre of a major child abuse scandal with allegations of sexual, physical and psychological abuse stemming back to the 1960s.

On Monday, police found what could be more human remains at the same site that a skull fragment was found.

A police spokesman said the media would not be allowed to film the six members of the military squad due to the sensitive nature of the equipment they were using.

The same team were used after the floods that struck the Cornish village of Boscastle when they were brought in to look for people who could have been buried in mud slides.

The investigation continues to gather pace as officers receive calls daily about the alleged abuse.

Seventy victims have come forward since the skull was found and more than 150 calls have been received.

Twelve detectives from the UK started this week as part of a team of extra specialist support and more specialists are due to fly in this week.

Pictures of one of the underground "punishment rooms" have been released, showing a large concrete bath and a message scribbled on the wall saying "I've been bad for years and years."

The inquiry has uncovered more than 40 suspects and a police team is based at the port and airport in case any of them try to leave.
