Eto'o linked with Liverpool move
Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o is being linked with a possible summer move to Liverpool.
Speculation is mounting over Eto'o's future at the Nou Camp after a row with Barca boss Frank Rijkaard and team-mate Ronaldinho in recent weeks.
And with US tycoons George Gillett and Tom Hicks set to hand Reds boss Rafael Benitez a hefty transfer kitty following their takeover of Liverpool, the 25-year-old Cameroon hitman could become a target for the Spaniard once again.
Benitez tried to sign Eto'o, who is also being linked with Chelsea and Arsenal, two years ago. Reports claim that the three-times African Player of the Year could cost between £20 and £50 million.
Dirk Kuyt, meanwhile, has insisted that Benitez's men will not have Barcelona and the Champions League on their minds when they take on Premiership leaders Manchester United on Saturday.
The Merseysiders will be looking to maintain their 2-1 lead in the second leg at Anfield, but Kuyt has insisted that the Reds are firmly focused on the task of beating north west rivals United first.
He said: "Facing Manchester United is one of the most important games you can play in a season, so no-one can be thinking about Barcelona until after this match.
"It would be a great result if we could do it, you just need the same approach to the game as we have had in the last week."
Meanwhile, New England Revolution coach Steve Nicol has claimed he has held talks with former Liverpool team-mate Robbie Fowler about a move to Major League Soccer.
Fowler's contract at Anfield expires in the summer and with Benitez still pursuing another striker after agreeing a deal to sign Andriy Voronin from Bayer Leverkusen, the 31-year-old appears unlikely to be offered a new deal.
There have been suggestions that Fowler could seek a fresh start by following David Beckham to MLS, where he could join up with the man he played alongside for the Reds in the early 1990s.
Nicol said: "We'd be interested in Robbie. But at the moment the first thing is the financial side. We've spoken, but as of yet there's nothing been settled. He's really just dipping his foot in the water here."
