Beckham plays in Hawaii friendly
David Beckham moved a step closer to winning his 100th England cap by playing in a friendly in Hawaii.
LA Galaxy lost 1-0 to the Japanese team Gamba Osaka in Honolulu, but Beckham played the entire 90 minutes as part of the squad's preparations for the Major League Season, which kicks off next month.
England coach Fabio Capello left Beckham out of the squad for the friendly against Switzerland earlier this month, claiming he was not fit enough.
But Beckham proved he has not lost any of his competitive edge when he squared up to Gamba Osaka defender Lucas to complain about a late tackle.
Beckham could win his 100th cap for England against France in Paris next month.
But that match is less than two weeks after the Major League Soccer season kicks off, so Beckham will probably have to wait for a friendly later in the season to reach the landmark.
