Man shot in broad daylight

A man has been murdered in broad daylight, Scotland Yard has said.

The 39-year-old - who has been unofficially named as Mark Tredinnick of Collier Row - was shot in Benskins Lane, Romford, east London.

Officers were called yesterday afternoon, and Mr Tredinnick was treated for gunshot wounds at the scene.

He was taken to hospital, but died of his injuries shortly after. A post-mortem will be held this afternoon.

Police are asking for anyone who saw two white men near a white Astra van close to the murder scene to come forward.
