Ne-Yo's delight at chart success
R&B singer Ne-Yo is so busy producing mega-hits and touring that he was caught unaware of a significant achievement - usurping Coldplay's hold at the the top of the charts.
New single Closer unseated Chris Martin's band's single Viva La Vida last month.
In another example of his absorbing lifestyle, Ne-Yo,26, revealed his new single was inspired by an unforgettable night out in a London nightclub, but confessed he couldn't remember the name of the establishment.
He said: "I remember falling asleep in the car on the way to the club, so I don't remember the name.
"All I remember was that it was really dark and really small and played house music and techno all night long."
"There wasn't a particular girl I was trying to get closer with, but there were a few of them I was trying to closer to in that club to be honest with you."
Meanwhile, the tireless Ne-Yo is on tour with the Pussycat Dolls, working on new movie projects and mooting a bizarre collaboration with goth king Marilyn Manson.
