Sheffield United are planning to sue West Ham for the cost of relegation from the Premier League.

The Blades finished three points behind the Hammers at the end of last season but they spent the summer campaigning for the east London club to be demoted in their place, claiming they should have been deducted points for fielding Carlos Tevez.

Sheffield United are expected to launch a campaign for £30 million

West Ham were fined £5.5 million over Tevez and managed to avoid the drop, thanks in part to the goals the Argentina striker scored towards the end of the season.

Sheffield United are expected to launch a campaign for £30 million in compensation for lost revenue.

Meanwhile, Championship football club Charlton Athletic is up for sale.

The south London team were relegated at the end of last season, along with Sheffield United.
