Jude avoids trouble with the Law

Actor Jude Law has been cleared of an alleged assault on a photographer.

The 34-year-old was arrested last month on suspicion of attacking a snapper outside his home in central London.

The photographer alleged he had suffered minor injuries after a run in with the Alfie star.

But the Oscar-nominated actor has always insisted he was innocent.

A spokeswoman for Law said: "The police have told me that they and the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) have examined the photographer's allegation extremely carefully and made the decision that there is no further action to be taken."

She also added that Jude was "delighted to be vindicated."
