Afghan bus bomb kills 35

A least 35 people have been killed after a bomb exploded in a police bus in Kabul.

The police academy bus was carry many police recruits when it went off, wounding several others, police said.

Ali Shah Paktiawal, Kabul's police director of criminal investigation, said that initial reports suggestions that dozens of policemen were feared dead.

Police described the attack as a suicide strike but an Interior Ministry official said this was still uncertain.

The Taliban, ousted from power in 2001 by US-led forces, has claimed responsibility for the blast which would be the most deadly suicide attack in Kabul, if the death toll is confirmed.
