Glasgow man gunned down in front of students
A man has been gunned down in broad daylight in a Glasgow street in a crime which was witnessed by students from a nearby college.
The victim was shot in the head and body outside a shop in the Corkerhill area of the city and died at the scene.
Strathclyde Police said: "Inquiries are at a very early stage and detectives are in the process of establishing the circumstances surrounding this incident."
One woman, who did not want to be named, said: "My daughter was waiting for a bus and heard there had been a shooting and she phoned to tell me.
"I can't believe it's happened in the middle of the afternoon and in such a busy place - you've got the college, the shops, and the care home right there."
Corkerhill Road has been blocked off by a police cordon as forensic officers carried out investigations.
Many residents were left stranded as cordons surrounding the scene stopped them from getting to their homes.
